The dignity of human life at its very end is threatened by the legalisation
of euthanasia. This threat comes not only from the possibility of legalising
euthanasia out-right but also from the fight of those in favour of euthanasia
to make advance directives legally binding on doctors. The abuse of
language and the misinformation available on issues such as withholding
and withdrawing treatment also constitute a significant threat. Information
